MODIFY LAYERS

Current

When Current is selected the layer is active.
New objects are placed on the active layer, and you can edit existing objects on the layer.


Normal

When Normal is selected the layer is visible and you can edit the elements placed on it.


Locked

Ctrl + Click

When Locked is selected the layer is visible but you can not edit the elements placed on it.


Hidden

Shift + Click

When Hidden is selected the layer is invisible and you can not edit the elements placed on it.


Show All

Alt + Click

Makes all layers visible.


Lock Others

Ctrl + Alt + Click

When Lock Others is selected, all other layers becomes locked,
and the current layer becomes active.


Hide Others

Shift + Alt + Click

Hide other layers, and make current layer active.


Insert Layer

Inserts a new layer.


Delete Layer

Deletes the current layer.


Properties

Opens the Properties Dialog Box - Use it to add a name to the layer.


Guide

If Guide is selected, the current layer becomes a guide-layer.
Guilayers are visible on the screen int he Flash Editor, but becomes invisble when exporting to a movie.
Guided layers are useful as animation-help.
Note: A blue line shows up next to the name of the layer.


Add Motion Guide

Add Motions Guide creates a new Motions Guide Layer that is connected to the current layer.
A blue line shows up next to the name of the motion guide layer.
Motion guides are used when you want to animate an object to move along the line you draw in the motion guide layer.


Mask

Turns the current layer into a Mask Layer.
A Mask Layer works in combination with the layer under it.
Only where you have painted to the Mask Layer, will the following layer be visible.
A Mask Layer can only hold a single emelemt, symbol or object.
Note: Until you select Show Masking the the Mask Layer will act as a normal layer.


Show Masking

Choose show Masking if you want to actually see the result of the Mask Layer.
While you edit the Mask Layer itself it is convenient to actually see the mask and not the result of it.
When done - select Show Masking to let the Mask take effect on the layer under it.


Normal Color

Shows current layer in normal colors.


Red Outlines

Show all objects on current layer, using red outlines.
This is very useful whil working with onion skinning, or if you want
a fast overview of which elements are placed onthe current layer.


Green Outlines

Same as Red Outlines - Only Green of course :o)


Blue Outlines

Same as Red Outlines - Only Blue of course :o)


Yellow Outlines

Same as Red Outlines - Only Yellow of course :o)


Purple Outlines

Same as Red Outlines - Only Purple of course :o)
