E-Mail :
INTRODUCTION

People use free e-mail accounts for various reasons.

Some have only one address per household and wishing to have private communications.

Some have only their work account and wish to receive e-mail from friends.

Others do not wish to be inundatd with SPAM mail. (SPAM mail is advertisements sent to multiple accounts over and over)

There are two main reasons not to distribute your usual e-mail address everywhere.

One is that you might end up on various mailing lists that will send you hundreds of commercial mails a day and thereby destroy your mail address.

Another big reason is safety! Imagine that you have entered your real name and address along with your usual e-mail account in various e-mail catalogues (or that your normal e-mail address IS your name). This is a useful way to make it possible for friends to find your e-mail address. However, at the same time it works the other way around. Say you give your real e-mail account to someone - and later you find out he/she is not a nice person. Now, this not so nice person can make an inverse lookup in major e-mail catalogues on the net - entering your e-mail address, and a few seconds later, they have your real name, phone#, address etc. The day after you hear the doorbell ring, and...... never mind - you get the point.!
