Tripod provides you with tools for creating and posting your page and they host your page for free.

Tripod supports Microsoft Frontpage Extensions.

When users load your page at Tripod they will get a second window with a navigation bar for the Tripod comunity. This is undesireable in most cases.
However, Tripod needs to get visitors to their main page in order to maintain the free service. After all, it is the ads placed there that give them the ability to offer free webspace.

NBCi <formerly Xoom> - Unlimited free space

NBCi's My Web Site provides links to all the tools you'll ever need to create, register, promote and monetize your web site. You can also add features to your site, such as auctions and stores, and become a member of their affiliate network.

On NBCi, your site will automatically have an NBCi Bar. The NBCi Bar takes up 50 pixels at the top of the screen. It offers various links to NBCi and our partners, <ads again> and provides a search box, allowing visitors to search the web directly from your page.
